About Jack.

Pastor. Coach. Mentor. Advocate.

The Basics.

Jack Davis is a pastor and life coach who has dedicated his life to empowering others to grow into the fullness of their God-given purpose regardless of how intimidating the obstacles. Jack is most often described as “intentional” and a “pursuer of people.” He knows how important every single person is and how each individual is capable of a high level of flourishing that is often beyond the individuals expectations for themselves; for this reason, Jack refuses to give up on anybody and is ready to celebrate future growth with everyone. He wants to see this joyful growth for you as well.

Jack is joyfully married to his wife Vanessa of two years.

Educational Background.

Jack holds a Bachelor of the Arts (B.A.) in Biblical and Theological studies with a minor in Psychology from Biola University and a Master of the Arts (M.A.) in Biblical and Theological Studies with an emphasis in Theology from Western Seminary. Jack is a certified Transformational Coach through Western Seminary’.

Professional Work Experience.

Jack is currently the Pastor of Connections at Redemption City Church where he connects the vision and mission of the church to the lives of the members and attendees; empowering them to risk their comfort to reach their city with with a message that can release freedom in Jesus so that they, and many others, can experience a redeemed life in Christ. Previously, Jack served as a Children’s Pastor at Sonrise Church where he used a coach-approach to empower leaders to raise up the next generation of Jesus-followers. He has also served in various roles in coaching, small groups, and Sunday morning ministries. What every job has in common is Jack’s empowerment of those under his care to grow into what God has called them to become.

How He Got Here.

Jack wants to see you flourish. In fact, he is obsessed with seeing others make breakthroughs that allow them to grow closer in their relationship with God and accomplish what they were always made to do. Jack’s passion to raise others up was ignited at a spiritual retreat where the speaker encouraged each person to do what most stirred their heart. This sparked Jack’s journey to discover how to empower others to not just grow, but to flourish. To that end, he went to Biola university to study the Bible and psychology and then transitioned to Western Seminary to do his master’s work in theology and transformational coaching. Jack’s education was supplemented with his own soul work including reading the great spiritual fathers, facilitating a poetry group that explored the inner life, and wrestling with God through his own experience of suffering with autoimmune diseases. This journey then bloomed into pastoral and coaching roles where he was able to guide others to be their best selves: empowered, transformed, Christ-centered individuals.

Jack's Coaching Philosophy.

Through this journey, Jack has honed what he considers to be the three essential skills to empower others to flourish: Deep Listening, Powerful Questions, and Holy Spirit Reliance.
  1. Deep Listening: Anyone can listen, but the most powerful listeners listen at multiple levels. A seasoned listener listens to the words, tone, body language, silences, and word choice as it relates to the speakers personal background, cultural context, and previous conversations and then uses the listening to craft powerful questions.
  2. Powerful Questions: Powerful questions take what is revealed in deep listening and then asks a question that creates more clarity within the speaker. Powerful questions can draw out deeper layers, connect several previously unconnected elements in the conversation, point out patterns, use creativity to pull the speaker out of a rut, or simply invite the speaker to go further than they thought they could.
  3. Holy Spirit Reliance: Humans are pretty clever, but our cleverness pales in comparison to the wisdom and insight of the Holy Spirit. The best coaches lean upon the Holy Spirit and are always listening for the Holy Spirit to move the conversation in the best direction.
